Kappa Delta Alumn Sami Beggs

It’s insane to think that it’s been a whole 4 years since I first walked through the KD doors during Open House. If those walls could talk... we’d be listening for years. Spending my college experience in a sorority where you can find something to aspire to be in EVERY girl was humbling, inspiring, and strengthening all at the same time.

Two years after I first walked through those doors, I looked for a place to start my career. Being an economics major, I thought my choice was limited to grad school. The older girls at the time opened my eyes to opportunities which I would have never thought were attainable, and I started to apply to professional services firms. As I began my search, I came across a company that I adored - the culture, people, locations, opportunities -

everything stood out to me. I received an internship offer, and a full-time offer followed my intern experience. I was always sure I wanted to start my career at KPMG, but learning that Lynn Doughtie, a KD Epsilon Pi alum who was the CEO and chairWOMAN, sealed the deal for me.

From the first moment you step through those doors to graduation, and after that, you will find amazing women in this sorority. Whether she’s the strong girl you speak to at pref about family issues, your best friend for life you meet on bid day, or women like Lynn who have broken glass ceilings and reached the top of the corporate world, everywhere you look, there are powerful and beautiful women. I’m so grateful to have experienced Kappa Delta and hope that somewhere along the way I was able to inspire someone, too.
