Taylor Crushes Halloween Every Year and We Want In

Sister Taylor Walsh sparks creativity and inspiration for Halloween 2021.

I love everything about fall. From the cozy, crisp mornings to the colorful leaves that fill the sky, there isn’t one thing I don’t cherish about the season. Not to mention, the best holiday of them all is during fall...Halloween!! I’m obsessed with Halloween –definitely NOT because of the creepy clowns and horror films, but rather the opportunity to dress up as someone else! I know this may sound bad at first, but it’s true. I tend to dress down on most days. I hardly wear makeup throughout the week, and when I do, it is minimal. Oops. As for my typical hairdo... let’s leave it at that. Don’t get me wrong; I love how minimal I am, but Halloween is the perfect time to paint my face with makeup and be fabulously extravagant, and I always make sure my costumes are never less than up to par.

When it comes to putting together a Halloween costume each year, I try to look for an outfit that won’t be seen often on Halloween night. Keep scrolling to see my favorite costumes through the past few years!

First up, is my all time favorite - A flapper (and Peaky Blinder)…

This past Halloween, I wore my favorite costume by far. I love everything about the Roaring ’20s, so when I stumbled upon this feathery dress on Amazon, I IMMEDIATELY became inspired. I ended up ordering my whole costume from Amazon! Below are the two links I used for my entire fit. To top off my outfit, I added a few tight curls to my hair, put on some red lipstick, and was ready to go. What I loved most about this costume was that I didn’t see anyone else wearing it, so I definitely felt more unique when I went out.

Next up is Kourtney Kardashian from the iconic “Flipping Off’ Picture…

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a hugeee fan of the Kardashians - I most certainly Keep Up. LOL. This year when I moved into my apartment, I needed something to fill the bare walls and found the ICONIC picture of the Kardashians flipping up the camera on a tapestry. After ordering and displaying it, I thought it would be so funny to remake the image. My friend Kat and I both requested a replica dress that Kim and Kourtney wore from Fashion Nova. We got several spray tans (oops) and even bought temporary black hair dye from Target to really become a Kardashian for the night. Plus, it was fun seeing who could guess my costume!

Then, “party animals”…

This costume was super easy, yet unique, and so fun! All I had to order was unicorn ears, glitter for my face, and a party horn. I like this idea because you can take a standard animal costume--like a cat or cheetah, and spice it up as a party animal! Plus, there are so many cute party horns and face glitter sets to choose from...

And finally, Barbie…

While this costume is a tad bit more on the less-creative side, it was so sporty and spunky to wear. I ordered a Barbie swimsuit from Etsy and then wore all the pink I owned, including heart-shaped shades and a scrunchy, as well as white glitter shorts. I put on some pink lipstick, too, to really accentuate the pink vibe I was going for. Not to mention, this costume was super comfortable.
